April 1st Public Hearing
At the April 1, 2007 Public Hearing, the Lone Wolf Groundwater Conservation District Board of Directors voted to approve changes to the District Rules. These changes include more information and metering for all wells used for exportation, site inspections before drilling and well inspections after the completion of the well. Deposits will no be refunded until after the well inspection has taken place. A copy of the updated district rules are available online and can be found under the District Rules and Management Plan page.
Also scheduled for discussion was a plan to help protect and preserve water during drought. The Board approved the plan after opening the meeting for public comment. The plan will be effective for all water well owners and users in Mitchell County. This includes those who purchase their water from the City of Colorado City, the City of Loraine and Mitchell County Utilities. A copy of the plan is available at the office or by clicking here.
